Jo- you bring up a great point! I think it really depends on the company's situation. If you are running a small business for example an accounting firm and you need to maintain your website for local marketing purposes (which by the way this type of business should be doing), then to read from various reputable online SEO resources about the right way to optimize your site would make great sense.
If, however, your working within a fairly large company that can afford it, hiring an SEO agency or SEO Manager as part of your marketing team would make sense.

This is a full time job, it does involve editorial skills as well as some technical know how, i.e. exporting large masses of JavaScript to an external JS file would be a help, or understanding the differences between 301 redirect and meta refresh and knowing which is better (hint: 301 redirect is).
This is a great comment and one that will necessitate my writing a new post about. Thanks!

Hey do you think its worthwhile to get a <a href="http://www.SearchEngineOptimization.com.sg" rel="nofollow">professional seo</a> company to perform the seo work for us. Or to just learn it like you and implement the strategies ourselves?
